MOKOKCHUNG, OCTOBER 16: Queen Mary Higher Secondary School (QMHSS), one of the reputed Catholic-run schools in Mokokchung, conducted its annual literary competitions on October 14 and 15.
The annual literary competition was organised into two segment- a separate event for students from Classes I to VII on the first day and for students from Classes VIII and above on the second day.
The first day of the programme saw students from Classes I-VII partaking in various items such as ikebana (the art of Japanese flower arrangement with formal display according to strict rules), prepared speech, Bible recitation, song, dance and fancy dress competitions. The second day programme included ikebana, extempore, fancy dress, quartet, debate and quiz competitions.
The students participated with great enthusiasm by showcasing their talents which attracted large number of parents who came to witness the performances of their children.
In pursuing academic excellence, Queen Mary Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung, also tries to foster creativity and competitive spirit amongst students, commented a teacher while highlighting about the various literary competitions organised by the school every year.
