The one-day 62nd biennial sports meet of Pfuchatsumia Youth Organization (PYO), Kohima Village took place on Saturday at Kohima Village Ground, Kohima, with Motuo Sote, Additional Secretary to the Governor of Nagaland as the chief guest.
Declaration the sports meet formally open, in his address Motu Sote lauded the efforts all the pioneers who started the games and sports meet, which had brought foster unity and understanding amongst the people of the village.
He also congratulated the PYO for organizing the sports and games meet in the P.Khel that will go a long way in promoting the sporting events and also suggested that cash incentives be awarded to various winners in all sports disciplines.In his welcome address, PYO President Vimhalie Peinyu said that selected sports players will represent P. Khel for the 62nd Kohima Sport Village Meet, 2016 schedule from January 5 to 9, to be played at Local Ground, Kohima and various venues.
Earlier the invocation prayer was given by Medochiilie Peinyu, Pastor BRCK, special number was given by Ms. Neiphrehunuo Pienyu and her friend. The oath to the players was given by Neikeyielie Peinyu, Wrestling Secretary PYO, while Neiziengulie Rame, Treasurer, PYO, chaired the function.
Four units of P.Khel, Kohima Village– Usou Rhuba, Rutsa Rhuba, Tsakou Rhuba and Yakouzou Rhuba took part in the Athletics and Wrestling meet.
