Dimapur, March 15 (EMN): In an effort to promote eco-tourism and in compliance with the directives of Southern Angami Youth Organisation, the Phesama Youth Organisation (PYO) has banned hunting of wildlife and declared that any individual or group violating the laid rules within its jurisdiction would be penalised with a fine of INR 30,000.
PYO has strictly prohibited collection of firewood and vegetation, dumping of loose soil/mud, and dumping of garbage/ hospital waste into the rivers/ streams within its jurisdiction and warned that defaulters would be penalised with an amount of INR 20,000.
PTO further requested the public to stay vigilant of such unwanted activities and report to PYO officials for the collective preservation of the environment keeping in mind the climate change faced over the past few years and also challenged everyone to ambassadors towards environment protection.
