Dimapur, Jan. 26 (EMN): To facilitate movement of school buses, PWD (R&B) department has raised the cross bars attached to Bailey Bridge at 4th Mile over Chathe River, behind Referral Hospital, by two inches above the present clearance height. In a press release, PWD (R&B) executive engineer, Er. Talitemsu Jamir, stated that the temporary Bailey Bridge would continue to serve the purpose of connectivity for light vehicles and school buses. He, however, stated that restriction of heavy laden trucks which was enforced on May 5, 2018, would continue. In this regard, he has requested truck owners and drivers to bear with the inconveniences caused due to the restriction. The department has requested the commissioner of police (SP Traffic), Dimapur, to continue deployment of traffic personnel. It further requested the chairmen and GBs of surrounding areas to continue extending their unconditional support to restrict movement of heavy laden vehicles.
