- DIMAPUR — Minister
of PWD (R&B), G Kaito Aye, officially launched the Online Management and
Information system (OMIS) at Civil Secretariat conference hall in Kohima on
Friday.
- Speaking at the launch event, Aye said launch of OMIS
platform marked a significant leap forward for steadfast commitment to modern
governance, transparency and excellence in public infrastructure development.
He added that the department has introduced the digital platform for efficient,
accountable and citizen-centric service delivery, stated a DIPR report.
- The minister stated that the cornerstone of OMIS was its
emphasis on public engagement, where for the first time citizens of Nagaland
could access real-time updates on the status of the roads and infrastructure.
He also stated that the open-access model would foster trust between the
government and the people, thereby empowering citizens to stay informed about
developmental initiatives in their communities.
- Aye further stated that the initiative also aligned with
national goals such as the Digital India Mission, reinforcing Nagaland's role
as a proactive participant in India's digital transformation journey.
- Earlier, the minister officially launched the OMIS website.
- The commissioner and secretary of Works and Housing
department, Kesonyu Yhome, chaired the programme and highlighted some key
features of OMIS system.
- The engineer in chief of NPWD, P I ImnaAo, gave a brief
introduction on OMIS, while the nodal officer of OMIS, Imnameren, gave hands-on
demonstration on the OMIS portal.
