Dimapur, Oct. 16 (EMN): Minister of PWD (Housing and Mechanical), Tongpang Ozukum, accompanied by department officials led by chief engineer (Housing) and NPF party leaders from both central and Dimapur division had a joint inspection for extension of PWD Rental Housing Phase-III Complex boundary in Dimapur on October 15.
As requested by the minister and the department, the NPF party leaders agreed to part with 10x162 feet towards NPF plot by dismantling the existing boundary wall between the two plots, stated an update from executive engineer of PWD (H).
It mentioned that the minister had, on November 7, 2021, written to NPF party president, Dr. Shürhozielie Liezietsu, to donate some portion of the plot for the purpose of parking space for the tenants of PWD Rental Housing.
It stated that the second land issue settled was the boundary between PWD Rental Housing Complex and Government Primary School (GPS) at Landmark Colony.
Report stated that the minister initiated a joint inspection with the leaders of Landmark Colony and the school management board in presence of the deputy commissioner of Dimapur. It added that after threadbare discussion between PWD (Housing) department and the council members of Landmark Colony, the latter agreed to settle the matter amicably by providing sufficient space for the entrance of PWD Rental Housing Complex.
It was further agreed to construct boundary walls on both sides of the Rental Housing Complex at the earliest to avoid dispute in future between the three entities.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the department, the minister has thanked the NPF party and Landmark Colony Council members for their magnanimity in settling the much-needed boundary extension and demarcation issue.
The minister also inspected the ongoing construction of Demonstration Housing Project (DHP) at Sematilla, Dimapur.
