PWD and Ikie-Itovi villages adopt 6 point resolutions

Government officials along with IIYF officials and members from Ikiye and Itovi villages inspect the ongoing road construction works from Satoi to Ikiye-Itovi on April 29.

Dimapur, May 2 (EMN): Zunheboto division of the Public Work Department (Roads and Bridges) and the public of Ikiye-Itovi villages have adopted six point resolutions pertaining to the ongoing construction of PMGSY Phase-IX, batch -I (2017-18)  between Satoi -Itovi- Ikiye.

The resolutions to this effect were taken during a joint meeting of Ikiye-Itovi village councils, Ikiye-Itovi Youth Front (IIYF), GBs of the two villages along with department officials and contractors on April 29.

An update from IIYF stated that the executive engineer, SDO (spot officer), JE (site in-charge) from PWD (R&B), Zunheboto division, contractor, and proprietor of Nagaland Steel Engineering Works NPW/Class-I/138 visited Ikiye-Itovi village on April 29 to carry out physical inspection of the ongoing construction of PMGSY Phase-IX, batch -I (2017-18) between Satoi-Itovi- Ikiye. The visit was in response to the representation served by IIYF on April 8.

During the joint meeting, it was resolved that the concerned contractor should arrange sufficient machineries such as JCB/Pokland for early completion of the ongoing new road connectivity Stage-I from Satoi to Ikiye-Itovi under PMGSY.

The joint councils of Ikiye-Itovi would detail a volunteer (Mohori) to monitor the ongoing construction of roads and make necessary correspondence to all the concerned and extend cooperation to the contractor and the department.

The joint village councils of Ikiye-Itovi have empowered IIYF to supervise the ongoing construction works till its completion and to ensure quality workmanship as per the specifications of the work order.

It resolved that the road construction between Itovi to Ikiye should be constructed with formation cutting 6m and carriage width 3m with a total of minimum 20 feet including the site drainage as per the DPR.

It also resolved that the contractor should clear all the landslides and construct drainage between Satoi to Ikiye-Itovi as per the DPR at the earliest.

It further resolved that the contractor should rectify/expand three sharp u-turn locations of the ongoing construction works towards Itovi village.

Report also stated that both the parties have agreed and carried out physical inspection for early completion of the work.

EE PWD (R&B), Zunheboto division, has also assured quality workmanship as per the specifications of the work order.
