DIMAPUR — Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS), Dimapur, celebrated the 163rd birthday of Rabindranath Tagore on Wednesday at Pranab Jubilee Auditorium.

According to a press release, the principal of the school, Monoj Bhattacharjee, outlined the life and unparalleled contributions of Tagore in his speech.

He encouraged the students to study their mother tongue with pride and pleasure so as to enrich, develop, and preserve their own cultures and traditions.

The event featured various cultural items such as Rabindra Sangeet, dance, and recitation performed by the students and teachers of the school to honour and pay tribute to Tagore.

Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj, chairman of the school and in charge of Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Dimapur and Karbi Anglong district of Assam, also spoke on the occasion.
