Dimapur, Dec. 7: The Public Forum of Pungro sub-division on Wednesday gave the state government a deadline – on or before December 30 – to depute a Sub-Divisional Officer (E) at Pungro.
A press release issued by the forum stated that it was “deeply pained to know of the recent steps taken” by state government with regard to said post. “The Pungro Area denizens received a notification from the Secretariat, Nagaland, notifying us that Pungro sub-division was given a SDO (E) to look after the area vide Order No. PWR/ESTT-32/2010, Sl. No. 17, dated 30 November 2015 and No. PWR/ESTT-32/2010, dated 29 January 2016.
“However, to the utter dismay of the general public of Pungro sub-division, the order was revoked. Aftermath, despite the unending appeals of the general public through the Public Forum Pungro sub-division, the government of Nagaland, has failed to revoke its order issued on 18 November 2016,” it stated.The forum demanded that said officer be immediately deputed to Pungro on or before December 30 next. “If the posting does not take place positively, the Forum officially back out of this tussle. And it may be added that, the Forum will no longer entertain any notifications or orders issued by the government of Nagaland.
“Where, the Forum will leave the matter onto the general public, thus, we will not be responsible for any course of action that proceeds,” it cautioned.
