Dimapur, Sep. 1 (EMN): The Self Help Group Village Federation of Punglwa ‘B’ market shed was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Jalukie Dr. Tinojongshi Chang on Sep. 1.
The project was supported by North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP) under the ministry of DoNER, Govt. of India and funded by World Bank.
Ruuvilie Kotsu, district project manager of NERLP briefed the villagers on various activities taken up by the NERLP across the district. He said that out of the five approved market sheds under value chain component, Punglwa ‘B’ is the second village to have completed the activity within the stipulated time. He informed that more than 14 crore has been spent by the NERLP on the seed funds, livelihood tranches and savings to SHGs across the districts. He asked the community to have maintenance plan and utilize the asset judiciously.
Dr. Tinojongshi encouraged the villagers to continue to be productive and sustain themselves. Saying that Punglwa ‘B’ is the only route connecting Peren from other districts, he is confident that the market shed will flourish and the income of the villagers will be enhanced.
