IMPHAL, December 19
A visibly desperate former chairman of a PULF faction Md Kazi Umar today warned the Manipur government of ‘serious consequences’ in the event that it fails to give the benefits assured to the surrendered cadres of the outfit at an earliest.
Talking to the media at the Press Club here, Md Kazi said the government has not been able to fulfill its promise to provide facilities to the 40 cadres till today. The former chairman of the militant group People’s United Liberation Front (PULF) faction along with the cadres laid down arms to the government on September 26, 2012.
He further said the necessary procedure like ‘CID statement and IG scanning’ for the surrendered cadres had been completed after the home-coming ceremony organised by the 17 Assam Rifles.
“The state government is yet to give the benefits including monthly honorarium to the cadres,” Md Kaji added.
Expressing discontent over the alleged indifferent attitude of the government towards the suffering of the cadres, the PULF leader warned of serious consequences if their rights are not given at the earliest possible time.
