Dimapur, November 8: Considering the inconveniences faced by the citizens and government departments, Pughoboto Sub-Division Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) has decided to write to the Director of Postal Service with a request to set a full-fledged post office in Pughoboto town.
The decision to this effect was taken during its monthly meeting on November 7 under the chairmanship of minister of Roads & Bridges and Chairman SDPDB Pughoboto, Vikheho Swu.
Besides discussion on the representation from the Joint Council Asukiqa Area with request for construction of an auditorium at GHS Asukiqa, the house also discussed on awarding commendation certificates to government employees who rendered exemplary and commendable service beyond the call of duty. IN this regards, departments are requested to bring such cases to the house with recommendation.
The house also decided to remind the Power department for allotment of street light in Pughoboto town. It may be mentioned that consumers pay for the street light in the monthly bill but Pughoboto town does not have a single street light connection.
The DCVO highlighted on the need for construction of a new office building which the members agreed to recommend and forward to the government for necessary action. The Adhoc Town Council Chairman lamented on the poor functioning of the Community Health Centre and its staff and suggested that the attendance and functioning of the department should improve in the interest of public welfare.
