Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): Leaders of the Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) unit at Pughoboto subdivision have issued a press release defending its president. The unit’s General Secretary Shiluvi Zhimo, Secretary Shikaho Swu, and Vice President Nasheto Sheqi appended the press release.
The press release began: ‘We are constrained to rebut the misleading statement issued by Mr. Ahovi Swu and Mr. Hotoshe Sheqi which appeared in certain local dailies on 1st Nov. 2017 wherein they had alleged that our president Zhuwoto Kiba is not even a primary member of the NPF and that Kughakhu Sheqi was elected by 5000 delegates in 2015 by Dr. Shiirhozelie Liezietsu group which stands withdrawn and nullified.’
“Here we want to make it clear that Mr. Zhuwoto Kiba was elected as president of our division on 20 Sept 2017 general convention at Dimapur by more than 40,000 delegates. We would like to remind that he was a CEC member from 2004 and a secretary in central office till 2011. Therefore it is incorrect to allege that he is a man of political instability and commitment,” the note stated.
The unit has iterated that its president had been a staunch supporter of Neiphiu Rio, president of the NPF and MP Lok Sabha, and TR Zeliang, chief minister since 2004.
“Therefore we can boldly state that his loyalty and integrity is unquestionable,” the press release added.
