The website was launched during a meeting of the Pughoboto subdivision planning and development board, which was conducted on September 10 in the DB court hall, in Pughoboto. The meeting was presided over by the board’s chairman Y Vikheho Swu, updates stated. The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) issued updates to the media on Tuesday informing about the proceedings of the meeting. The chairman launched the official website of Pughoboto (adcpughoboto.nagaland.gov.in) making it the ‘first’ additional deputy commissioner headquarters in Nagaland to have an official website. The website will provide a range of service to people who can easily access information about the division. Swu said that the people of Pughoboto can now download the Schedule Tribe and Indigenous certificate forms and others there. He lauded the officers for developing the website which will ‘bring transparency and accountability,’ the IPR stated. Swu asked the board’s members to provide authentic information. He said this will not only enhance the efficiency of officers but also “upgrade the sub division.” The board reviewed various other matters including the Thuwuni festival that is being held since the past four years. Thuwuni 2019 will be on hold due to engagements for centenary celebrations in Natsumi, the 75th anniversary celebration of Pughoboto town, and ongoing construction of the four-lane road from Dimapur to Kohima, the board was told. These engagements may hamper movement of the people, the board was told. Further, the Thuwuni badminton tournament will be held in Pughoboto next year and ‘Music Thuwuni- a’ will be organised in Pughoboto, Kohima and Dimapur to promote the Aphuyami people, the IPR stated. The IPR reported also that the Doyang Bridge between Pughoboto and Zunheboto was “weakening.” In this regard, the board members decided to restrict on it the movement of heavy vehicles that are ‘above 10 tonnes,’ till further orders. The next meeting of the board will be conducted at Ghathashi, the IPR stated. A presentation was also given by the government high school, which will be celebrating its 75 years of existence, in March 2020, the IPR stated.
