- DIMAPUR — The
office building of Superintending Engineer of Public Health Department (PHED),
Dimapur circle, which began in 2012, was inaugurated on Friday by the minister
of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi.
- Presenting the technical report, PHED chief engineer and
head of department, L Leyang Khiamniungan, informed that the RCC office with a
plinth area of 354.9 Sqm with 30 rooms and a conference hall was built at the
cost of INR 264.76 lakh funded by the Government of Nagaland under buildings
programme (state resources).The work was allotted to M/s Zhakai & CO,
government registered contractor and supplier in the year 2013.
- The original sanctioned estimated cost was INR 216.24 lakh
and the revised amount was INR 264.76 lakh. The building was completed during
2023-24 and the building was taken over by the department during May 2024.
- He informed that construction of deep bore well at the
office compound to provide water supply at the office complex, installation of
iron removal pressure filtration system, steel railing in the balconies,
construction of counter top and basins for kitchen, construction of generator
shed and procurement of additional office furniture were contributed by
executive engineer of Urban and Rural divisions.
- Technical sanction for construction of Superintending
Engineer office complex at Dimapur town was issued on November 6, 2012 by the
then chief engineer of PHED, Mhondamo Ovung.
- “The rate was quoted as per PWD building schedule of rates
2010. The total cost of the building was initially estimated at INR 216.24
lakh. However, due to the construction period spanning over 10 years and
subsequent increase in the cost of materials in the market, price escalation
had to be entertained and additional amount of INR 48.52 Lakh had to be added
as per schedule of rates 2016 and the final revised cost of the project was INR
264.76 Lakh. The project was completed during 2023-24 and the building has been
taken over by the department during May 2024. Completion certificate was handed
over to M/S Zhakai & Co on June 15, 2024,” he maintained.
