Dimapur, Oct. 22 (EMN): The Public Action Committee (PAC) of the Dimapur Naga Council organised a meeting with the Dimapur Urban GBs, Dimapur Urban Colony Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF), and DCP of Dimapur police on October 21 in the conference hall of Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
In the meeting, the house discussed mainly on community policing which is enshrined in the government policy as explained by the DCP. The members were of the view that every citizen has a responsibility in curbing all forms of illegal activities and that every member of a colony or village has the responsibility to act for the welfare of the people as the police cannot reach every nook and corner at all time.
The members felt that any form of illegal collection of money and illegal activities should be reported to the village/colony authority, who in-turn would report the matter to the police and not take the law into one’s own hand.
The members have appreciated PAC for the steps taken to check illegal collections of money by the state and non-state actors. The members appealed to every citizens to work together and eradicate illegal collections of money and make Dimapur district a better place to live.
This was stated in a joint statement issued by PAC convenor Vekhosayi Nyekha and press secretary Richard Haolai.
