In order to keep the town clean and green, Phek Town Youth Society (PTYS) has announced to undertake ‘Operation Clean-Green Phek’ and appealed to all Head of Offices to morally support the Society and to inform their staff to keep their office premises clean.
PTYS informed this during the Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) on March 16 under the chairmanship of the vice chairman DPDB and Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Murohu Chotso in his office’s conference hall. The Society said they were impressed by the cleanliness of the towns and surroundings during their tour to Sikkim.
While appreciating the noble cause of the youth, Deputy Commissioner had assured all possible help from the administration, while he also directed the DPRO, Phek, to widely publish the aims and objectives of the said programme.
While supporting PTYS, Chief Medical Officer suggested penalty against defaulters. DPO asked the youth to avail all technical advice from the relevant departments especially Power department, PHED, PWD, Forest before initiating the project on tree plantation and beneficiaries.
DFO Phek expressed her concern on dumping of waste into the nullahs and drains as it damages the environment. She assured them to depute staff as resource persons during seminar.
EE, PWD (R&B) informed the house of the road marking process undertaken in Phek town and sought help of the administration for its success. He said the inauguration of the welcome gate in Phek town would be tentatively held before or after the next DPDB.
