Dimapur, Jan. 27 (EMN): Pfutsero Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) has decided to check anti-social activities such as backdoor appointments, substitute teachers, eradicate ism, check tobacco and alcohol within schools jurisdiction, truancy among students, and impact of mobile on students’ life.
The decision to this effect was taken during its introductory-cum-consultative meeting held on January 25 at TT Hall in Pfutsero town with Wekhrote Kapfo, personal assistant to the Planning minister Neiba Kronu, as the guest speaker.
Speaking at the programme, the guest speaker stressed on the importance to value one’s tradition and language as well as to work hard with skills and live a financially independent life without depending on government job. Terming the Chakhesang community as a blessed tribe, he called upon the members to remove ‘ism’ and live in unity by respecting one another.
Besides sharing his life’s testimony, he urged the members to work hard and be humble in order to achieve success in life. He also stressed on the need for unity among various Chakhesang dialect speaking people such as Khezha, Chokri, Poula and Sumi. He further wished success to PTCSU in their endeavours.
The finance secretary of Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has assured their full support and encouraged PTCSU to take the union to a higher height as Pfutsero is the mirror of the Chakhesang tribe.
Public and student leaders, union presidents, wards and youth presidents, church leaders and various dignitaries attended the programme.
Meanwhile, the union has convened an emergency assembly on January 29 at TT Hall, below local ground in Pfutsero town. The union speaker, Truvi Rhi, has invited all its former officials, students, citizens and church leaders to the meeting.
