Dimapur, November 24: Public Service Aspirants of Nagaland (PSAN) has taken strong exception to what it alleged ‘several anomalies’ in which appointments were made by the government and resolved to fight against the offending departments.
With a view to discuss numerous problems and hardships faced by aspiring candidates in examinations, especially those conducted by NPSC, a meeting was held between the members of Public Service Aspirants of Nagaland (PSAN) and executives of various associations from technical backgrounds on November 23.
It mentioned that as a result of RTIs filed by the members, several anomalies were discovered in the manner in which appointments are made by the government. PSAN also alleged that a lot of incomplete or false information were provided by many departments, which was in complete disregard to the noble concept of the Right to Information (RTI).
During the meeting, issues relating to contractual appointments, non-abeyance of service rules by various departments, advertisement of very few vacancies for recruitments through NPSC, lack of transparency in exams etc. were discussed in detail.
Subsequently, PSAN demanded that all departments should have clear-cut service rules and strictly implement them with efficiency and transparency for the good of all. Furthermore, it was of the view that NPSC should become more transparent and declare the answer keys for technical exams as well as make public the marks of every candidate till the last stage of the exam, i.e. the mains and oral interview marks.
PSAN, alongwith all the other bodies from technical backgrounds have decided to further intensify the movement against corrupt and unhealthy practices in the State to ensure ‘what is rightfully ours should be given to us.’
