KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 26: Students were advised to minimise involvement in social programmes as it will leave less time for them to concentrate on their studies. This concern was shared by Secretary of Land Resources, Y Kikheto Sema at the silver jubilee celebration of the Sumi Students’ Union held at United Theological College, Benson Town, Bengaluru, on November 26.
Addressing the students, Sema said organising various programmes by tribal units separately will leave less time for the students to concentrate in their studies, which according him should be their priority as students.
He said Naga society today is suffering from truth deficiency and are suffering for its unforgiving nature. Stating that Nagas are a small family, it should not try to make it smaller by avoidable fragmentations.
Highlighting in brief the true essence of jubilee celebration, the students were advised to retrospect, cherish the past, forgive each other and carry forward the good things. He maintained that jubilee should not be an occasion of a mere celebration, but a time to fondly remember the pioneers for the foundation laid by them and seek blessings of the pioneers and carry forward their good legacy.
Expressing his deep concern on the election system in the State, he called upon the students community to partake towards clean election in Nagaland by playing their part.
The programme was also attended by office bearers of Naga Students’ Union Bengaluru, Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu Nagaland, other tribal student units of Bengaluru.
