Dimapur, May 10: Local business enterprise Fingerprint-Design & Events are in Peren district as part of its campaign for conservation of wildlife, environment and Climate Change. The group plans to visit 175 colleges and schools in Nagaland.
In Peren, the group visited Peren Higher Secondary School, All Saint Higher Secondary School, and Baptist High School and Peren High School. A note from the group on Tuesday called Peren district “the richest biodiversity district of the state.”
However, according to the group, the district has been seeing “massive hunting and deforestation and is in the brink to lose its rich biodiversity if people don’t start conserving the available resource for its future generation.”
Taking the example of old Peren village that the community had taken a stand to protect and conserve the area’s natural resources, the campaigners hoped that the students community would lead the way in educating the “anti- environmentalist.”
Fingerprint-Design & Events hoped that the students’ community would contribute to spreading the message of conservation of wildlife, the environment and about Climate Change to other remote villages of the district.
