Dimapur, June 2 (EMN): All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association (ANGPTA) has sought speedy investigation and to award befitting punishment to the culprits involving into the incident wherein one of its members was assaulted while on election duty at Kubza village on May 28.
In a representation to the state chief election officer, the association president, James Ruokuoselhou, and the general secretary, Hoshika H Sumi, has sought the safety of the victim and his family.
ANGPTA has issued the statement in support of the Mokokchung unit demanding stringent punishment against the culprit involving in the incident.
It may be mentioned here that one teacher was manhandled by some miscreants while performing his duty as first polling officer at Kubza village in polling station-13 under 26 Aonglenden AC on May 28 during the Lok Sabha by-election to the Nagaland parliamentary constituency.
The association press release alleged that its member was singularly harassed verbally, assaulted physically and further threatened without any reasons while on duty.
While condemning the incident, ANGPTA has sought two-point charter of demand failing which it has threatened to not cooperate with the department in other related duties in future.
As per the demand, ANGPTA has sought proper and speedy investigation and punish the culprits as per the rules of law at the earliest. It has also sought the safety of the victim so that he and his family might lead a normal life.
