Dimapur, May 2 (EMN): The All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association (ANGPTA) has cried foul at the Nagaland government for its failure to implement the Nagaland School Education Service Rules, 2017 in the state.
In a letter to the principal director of School Education, ANGTPA has accused the department of adopting ‘systematic delaying tactics’ and a disregard of the departmental service rules “to purposely deny all the promotions under the career advancement scheme of teachers”.
ANGPTA has therefore appealed to implement rule 14 -- promotions under the career advancement scheme of teachers -- of the service rules and promote all eligible primary teachers to senior primary teacher grade II and grade I respectively according to the prescribed length of service on time bound basis; rule 15 -- limited departmental examination -- to fill all vacant posts of JEO/AHM under the prescribed reservation system and conditions and to conduct the limited departmental examinations regularly; rule 12 -- recruitment by selection from lower grade – to set up the departmental selection board to recruit PGTs and GTs to the vacant posts so created from amongst the eligible lower grades teachers.
It has further appealed to complete the primary teachers’ seniority list at the earliest and fill up the vacant AEOs and senior AEOs posts.
ANGPTA also expressed it appreciation of the advisor of School Education who has “pitched for the conduct of the limited departmental examinations to strengthen the school setup”.
It further said that the association was ‘fully committed’ to improving the quality of education in the state.
“We do not practise the habit of dictating terms at the cost of holding the whole system to ransom but given to indefinite suppression of our rights, we will explore every possible ways to fight for our rights,” it added.
