All about a political solution and no personal agenda. The last paragraph of the FWA: “The two sides agreed that within this framework, agreement details and an execution plan will be worked out and implemented shortly.” Centre and State Government are responsible for working out the details and execution of plan in the interest of stakeholders within the principles of the FWA and Agreed Position. How long is the word “shortly” meant to be in the FWA? Why is the NPF government demanding a committee to talk when the talks concluded 6 years ago, and when NNWs stand by their agreements and also when there is scope to add or delete while working out details? There is no justification to demand a new interlocutor or committee. The only reason could be that they still think NSCN(IM) can rescue them in the election. This is the reason they do not want a solution. This is why the people understand NPF is the roadblock.
We feel hurt when Rh. Raising insulted Dr. S C Jamir, the tallest living leader of Nagaland, saying he has no right to speak for a political solution. Secretary General NPF and Advisor, Achumbemo Kikon is singing praise instead of defending the fundamental rights of state citizens and the tallest leader of the soil. Only an unsound mind can forget that it was Dr. S C Jamir who persuaded Rajiv Gandhi, former PM and President AICC in 1991 to ‘offer talks without preconditions’. This big heart opened the way for negotiated agreements. FWA have surrendered the issues of sovereignty and integration; as such, Nagas from outside Nagaland should restrain themselves from speaking on behalf of Nagaland and insulting Nagaland’s leaders and the community. Nagaland people's hospitality has been taken as weakness for too long. We need to live with mutual respect.
MLA Advisor and Secretary General NPF, Achumbemo Kikon, may be excited to be blessed with an Advisor post at the cost of NPF party sale proceeds. You have a long way to go to reach the achievements of Dr. S C. Jamir; it is too early to coach him. Respect parents and seniors; it is the tradition of the Nagas, know that your first duty is to protect the people of Nagaland. Understand the issue is the implementation of the Agreements, nothing personal.
NPF has continued to defend lawlessness and delay of implementation for the last 23 years with policies of equi-closeness, active facilitation and inclusiveness. Practically, NPF has joined the insurgents and has been using factions to suppress the stakeholders and corrupt the state government together. NPF represents the Nagas outside more than the public of Nagaland. Nagas outside Nagaland have their own representatives. A few members won with the support of NSCN(IM) and on the NPF ticket. They are happy with their respective states and the present situation, maybe because they get benefits from two states.
People know that the GOI has rejected CM’s proposal for appointment of a new interlocutor for fresh talks, based on the concluded talks, 6 years ago. NPF government in the 80th Independence Day speech lied that a minister-level committee had been constituted. He is now saying the Apex Committee will talk; where is that Apex Committee notification? CM is expected to be consistent and honest with his people. Since CM cannot sit with PM or UHM to work out the details, PR is the quickest way to implement the Agreements. There is nothing wrong in demanding PR for it is CM and NPF party’s own commitment “to pave the way”.
