Inaugurates 13 bridges and 11 roads across Nagaland

Dimapur/Kohima, Nov. 2 (EMN): President of India, Droupadi Murmu, arrived at Dimapur airport in Nagaland at around 12: 17 pm on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, the president was received by the Governor of Nagaland, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi; Chief of Staff, Sumit Talwar; Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal; and Commissioner Police, Dimapur Rothihu Tetseo.

The President and her entourage departed for Kohima by a chopper at 12:40 pm where a civic reception has been arranged by the state government at Capital Cultural Hall in the state capital Kohima.

During the programme, Droupadi Murmu virtually inaugurated, laid foundation stones and launched projects worth several crores of rupees.

a) 13 New government primary schools and four new government middle school buildings.

b) 14 New government high schools and one New government higher secondary school building.

c) Government Higher Secondary School, Mon auditorium.

d) Five Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) hostel buildings.

e) Two residential hostels for underprivileged Girl Children in Mokokchung HQ and Peren HQ.

f) 13 bridges and 11 roads across Nagaland.

g) New treasury building with State Bank of India branch at Capital Complex, Kohima.

h) 10 Eklavya Model Residential Schools across Nagaland.

i) Setting up of smart classrooms in 190 government schools across Nagaland.

Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the projects in the presence of Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet colleagues, and other government officials and representatives from various tribal bodies of Nagaland.

It may be mentioned that the president will be visiting Aizawl, Mizoram, and Gangtok and Namchi in Sikkim from November 2 to the 5th.
