DIMAPUR — The Department of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) convened a meeting on Monday at the DC conference hall, Chümoukedima, to discuss matters related to the upcoming Dr. T Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship 2025-26.
The meeting, chaired by Kethosituo Sekhose, director of the YRS, focused on reviewing and finalising preparations for the national-level championship, according to a DIPR report.
Convenors and co-convenors of the organising committee and functional area committees attended the meeting, where issues related to accommodation, security, reception, and technical matters were deliberated.
Polan John, deputy commissioner of Chümoukedima, said that it is a privilege and a challenge for the district administration to host a national-level tournament in Chümoukedima and urged all members involved to work together and ensure coordinated efforts among all stakeholders for the smooth and successful conduct of the championship.

Chumbenthung Murry, SDO (C), Chümoukedima, was chosen as the nodal officer on behalf of the district administration.
The Dr. T Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship is one of the major national sporting events hosted by Nagaland. The tournament will be held at the Chümoukedima Football Stadium from November 22 to December 11, where a total of 16 teams will participate.
The meeting was attended by officials from the YRS department, the Nagaland Football Association, the district administration, DPRO Dimapur, and others.
