Kohima, Jan. 11: Hectic preparation is underway for the forthcoming festival of the Chakhesang community, the Sükrünye festival, at Kohima local ground, scheduled for January 14.
The Chakhesang citizens will be celebrating Sükrünye, a premier festival, under the aegis of Chakhesang Hoho of Kohima (CHK) with the theme ‘strengthening unity and harmony.
The celebration will begin from 11 a.m. onwards.
The festival will see cultural presentations from Phusachodu village and Chakhesang Cultural Research Institute, followed by a community feast.
The organising committee has asked all the Chakhesang members residing in Kohima to be at the various gathering points on the scheduled date by 9 am and march to the venue of the festival. The designated gathering points are TT stadium, Officer’s Hill, PWD office junction, Keziekie Taxi Stand, CBCK Kitsubozou and the TCP gate.
Also, the CHK has informed that the next round of social work will be held on January 13, 10 am at the Kohima local ground. All the members in concern have been requested to attend the event.
