Prasielle Pienyu cuts the ribbon to inaugurate the newly revamped conference-cum-training hall in Dimapur on Thursday.


DIMAPUR — The newly revamped and renovated conference-cum-training hall of Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) Ltd. in Dimapur was inaugurated by Prasielie Pienyu, Chairman, NHHDC Ltd., on Thursday.


The inauguration took place in the presence of Y Lipongse Thongsar, Managing Director of NHHDC Ltd. and Additional Director of Industries and Commerce, Government of Nagaland, along with officers and staff of NHHDC Ltd., according to a press statement.


The chairman, in his speech, stressed the importance of working collectively to achieve the goal of uplifting the socio-cultural lives of the weavers and artisans.

He noted that, in view of ever-changing market demands, the need for product production based on requirements, and the technological upgradation of tools and machinery, local weavers and artisans should be prioritised.


Alongside the inauguration of the hall, a seminar-cum-workshop is being organised to build the capacity of the officers and staff of the corporation.


It covers topics such as understanding business concepts and marketing, the importance of preserving traditional knowledge of handloom and handicraft products and processes, and raising awareness of various government schemes and programmes related to the handloom and handicrafts sector.
