Pranabananda Women’s College organises awareness on cyber security

DIMAPUR — The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Cyber Cell of Pranabananda Women’s College (PWC), Dimapur, in collaboration with NIELIT under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, conducted an awareness programme on “Cyber security and emerging technologies” on October 31 in the college premises.

An update from the college stated that Daniel Meren, (Scientist ‘E’) additional director of NIELIT, and Rishav Sethi, CEO of NITI, Dimapur, were the resource persons of the programme.

It stated that both the speakers delved on the topic of cyber security and its intersection with emerging technologies and also elaborated on the challenges and opportunities with those emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IOT), virtual reality, cloud computing etc.

On cyber security, Daniel Meren stressed on various laws available for women in case of becoming a prey to cyber crime. He also emphasised on various safety measures such as to regularly update the phone apps, avoid clicking the link from unknown sources etc.

In conclusion the college principal, vice principal, faculty members, staff, students and resource persons took the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge as part of the National Unity Day celebration.
