Dimapur, Sep. 4 (EMN): The Phom People’s Council (PCC) has appealed the state disaster management authority to take stock of landslide that had occurred along Longleng –Yongam village road, as a result of the torrential monsoon rains. The council requested the authority in concern to assess the damaged crops and compensate the loss to the affected farmers.
A press release received here on Tuesday, informed that the PPC members led by its vice president, H Tenchem Phom on Sep. 4 visited the landslide site and inspected the ongoing road clearance work.
The council appreciated the deputy commissioner, Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam for early intervention and initiative in clearing the road. It also thanked Imliakum Aier, SDO of National Highway, Longleng division, for his prompt action in clearing the road by providing its machinery. Further, it expressed gratitude to the village council of Yongam and Bhumnyu, donors and public for their service rendered in clearing the road.
