Dimapur, Oct. 31 (EMN): The Department of Power has on Tuesday listed out the top 100 single point metered villages that have defaulted in payment of electricity bills over the years amounting to INR 3.49 cr.
"The Department is compelled to release the details since they fail to clear the dues in spite of several reminders and notices," the release added.
The collection of electricity bills of single point metered villages are undertaken by the Village Electricity Monitoring Board selected from among the community itself
This system is part of the communitisation of power department in the village level which has been quite successful in many villages in the state.
