Dimapur, May 20
Secretary of Department of Social Welfare Department, Bei-u Angami, has inaugurated the Block Convergence and Facilitation Centre (BCFC) and Village Convergence and Facilitation Centre (VCFC) of Mission Poorna Shakti Kendra at Chiephobozou Block in Kohima district on May 20.
Speaking on the occasion, Bei-u Angami has urged all the women participants to work harder so as to bring their status at par with men. Stating that government has initiated different schemes for the uplift of women in the society, he said this Poorna Shakti is one such scheme where every woman could avail the opportunities in the area of health, education, social or economic sectors.Chiephobozou Block being the first block in Nagaland to have started Mission Poorna Shakti, he has urged the people to set an example for other districts. The Poorna Shakti Kendra was started under Chiephobozou Block on a pilot project which covered 10 villages.
Chairperson of NSSWB, Bano Vinito, has delivered the keynote address, while Assistant State Coordinator of SRCW presented power point presentation on Poorna Shakti Kendra. Mission Director of SRCW, Daisy Mezhür, has shared views and ideas in order to enable the mission move forward. ADC Chiephobozou, Bodeno Colo also spoke on the occasion.
Research Officer of SRCW, Meneno Vamuzo, has chaired the programme while the invocation and vote of thanks were proposed by Catechist, St. Dominic Church, Duoneilie, and the Block Coordinator, BCFC, Ruokuosalie Rülho respectively.
