I fear the example of working-Sunday in political journeys by highly qualified intelligent Christians of Nagaland may set a stumbling block of bad precedence.

I am writing this, a little painful letter, not a little disturbed and in silent prayer, in the public domain because the Issue of what I am going to present here has great lasting consequences for all the people of Nagaland and even for the outside we all care.
The matter is that your FNR [Forum for Naga Reconciliation] programme advents a great political meeting on Sunday, November 30, 2025. I expected you would avoid such a poignant programme of earthly matter on such a hallowed sacred Day of Rest in the Christian Gregorian Calendar universally accepted and observed all over the whole world.
Nagaland does not appreciate the state or the Union government fixing official programmes on Sundays in Nagaland: you and Wati Aier, a great Naga theologian knows that. The people of Nagaland like to observe Sunday morning Church service and a restful day of peace for the rest of the day. On Sundays all shops and even government offices close: some may not welcome this, but this is Nagaland; please bear with us.
There seems to be a subtle manoeuvre by certain Naga political group to create a new denomination-less umbrella church to cover the whole Naga area under the group. The NBCC, [Nagaland Baptist Church Council] declined the invitation to associate with the camouflaged denomination-less political church; the NBCC faithfully and wisely declined even the state BJP government’s financial largesse. This cunning political stratagem is to tap the ecclesiastical power of the church for secular politics; you and Wati remain mum. I believe silence is a great Christian sin in whoever has the knowledge of the truth but keeps mum.
When the Naga People’s Convention got Article 371A(I), Item (a), (i) on “religious or social practices of the Naga”, the negotiating Committee meant ‘Christianity and its practices’ not the Naga pagan spirit practices, and Parliament even kept this special privilege outside of its control [last surviving member of the negotiating Committee of the NPC].
I am touched by the high PhD and a quarter sentence of Degree Letters of learning Dr. Wati Aier earned from University in America, a country of super-rich pastors preaching prosperity theology, owning private jets, estates, villa and Mercedes cars; allows same gender marriages, silent on unborn child killing, not as enthusiastic on the Poor and Poverty elevation; I believe is against the commandment of the God most high. I fear the example of working-Sunday in political journeys by highly qualified intelligent Christians of Nagaland may set a stumbling block of bad precedence to the cause of Christianity in the land already bewitched a lot like the Galatians and not very sure of itself yet.
You termed your organisation a “sacred journey of the Naga people” as if it is worthy of spiritual veneration. I agree non-violent political movement by our people is of great importance not only to the involved but also to many others as well, but to describe a Naga political movement as sacred may be a little misplaced gradation: my fear is that highly educated influential people equating political movements as sacred may mislead the less educated.
I have other things also to express to you but for the present I should end here.
Thank you.
Yours Sincerely,
Thepfulhouvi Solo.
