Dimapur, April 8 (EMN): The commissioner and returning officer, Nagaland has prohibited the conduct of election campaign in the last 48 hours. Nagaland goes to polls on April 11.
In a notification issued on Monday, the returning officer directed all all political parties, candidates, their leaders, and campaigners to ensure that they observe the “silence period” during the last 48 hours.
“It is further directed that no political party or candidate or any other organisations or person shall publish any advertisements in the press media (sic) on the poll day and one day prior to the poll day unless the contents have been pre-certified by the MCMC committee in the state /district level as the case may be,” it stated.
