Police school bus meets with accident

[caption id="attachment_196956" align="aligncenter" width="565"] The 2nd NAP school bus that veered off a road near the Assam Rifles CSD canteen in Mkg. on July 23.[/caption] Our Correspondent Mokokchung, July 23 (EMN): A 2nd NAP school bus, carrying about forty school children met with an accident as the bus plunged down a steep terrain near the Assam Rifles CSD canteen, Mokokchung on Monday afternoon. The passengers, mostly college and school students were returning home to 2nd NAP Headquarters Alichen under Mokokchung district. Fortunately, there were no fatalities and none of the passengers were seriously injured. Eyewitness report stated that the driver was reportedly under the influence of liquor. The crowd who came to help out the victims, on learning that the driver was at faults, became agitated and wanted to trash the driver of the school bus. However, police quickly intervene and took the driver to Police Station II and brought the situation under control. Meanwhile, Mokokchung police officials informed that the two recovery vehicles from DEF Mokokchung and Assam Rifles, and a ‘loader crane’ were pressed into action to pull out the bus and taken to 2nd NAP Hq, Alichen.
