Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): Dimapur arrested one person namely Anand Rai, son of Ram Naresh Rai and resident of Lhomithi colony, on March 22 in connection with the murder of Bharad Prasad, a vegetable vendor, whose body was found near a school in Thahekhu village.
The accused confessed that he had murder Bharad Prasad following a verbal altercation in Lomithi colony on March 22 and later disposed the body in Thahekhu village, Dimapur.
A police report stated that the vehicle bearing registration No. AS11H-5781 used by the accused person in disposing the body has also been seized. It added that case in this regard has been registered at Sub-urban police station.
On the same day police apprehended one person namely Sangbun Chang of Sipongsang village in Tuensang district and resident of Signal colony, Dimapur, near Circuit House in possession of one country made .32 pistol with one magazine and cash of INR 8650.
Case in this connection has been registered at Dimapur East PS, the release added.
