Poilwa FC, Nchangram Lun FC register wins in PDFL 3.0

DIMAPUR — Poilwa FC and Nchangram Lun FC recorded convincing victories in their respective matches of the PDFL 3.0 football tournament on Monday.

A press release informed that in the opening match, Poilwa FC defeated Football Plus Academy after dominating proceedings from the start.

Sehgoluen opened the scoring in the 7th minute to give Poilwa an early lead. The advantage was doubled in the 33rd minute when Poilwa were awarded a penalty following a foul inside the box, which captain Ratobe N Poireng calmly converted.

Ngamminlun added the third goal in the 43rd minute to give Poilwa a comfortable 3–0 lead at halftime.

Football Plus Academy attempted a comeback after the break, but Poilwa extended their lead when Rangliakum, later named Man of the Match, struck twice in quick succession in the 60th and 65th minutes.

Football Plus Academy managed to pull one goal back through Lungdiak in the 79th minute. Poilwa’s Haominlen was cautioned with a yellow card in the 50th minute.

In the second match, Nchangram Lun FC overcame Kingdom Stewards in an entertaining encounter. Kedunlung put Nchangram Lun ahead as early as the 3rd minute, setting the tone for the match.

Despite Kingdom Stewards enjoying spells of possession, they struggled to convert their chances. Nchangram Lun doubled their lead in the 32nd minute through a penalty converted by Poulin after a handball inside the box.

The second half saw Nchangram Lun continue their attacking momentum, with Khangkinwi scoring in the 47th minute to make it 3–0. Kingdom Stewards managed a consolation goal deep into stoppage time, with Irabeubo finding the net in the 90+3rd minute.

Nchangram Lun’s Wikedatlu received a yellow card in the 41st minute.
