The Pochury Students' Union condemns the alleged abduction of two religious men of the Don Bosco Congregation from Saparmaina.

DIMAPUR — The Pochury Students' Union (PSU) has condemned the alleged abduction of two persons of the Don Bosco Congregation (Salesian Congregation) from Saparmaina, Manipur, on the night of May 13.
The abducted individuals have been identified as Brother Peter Küvisie Poji from the Pochury community and Brother Aching Paul from the Rongmei community. They were allegedly abducted at around 9 pm while travelling from Don Bosco Imphal to Don Bosco Maram.
In a condemnation note, the union stated that such an inhumane and cowardly act against innocent religious persons devoted to serving humanity and promoting peace is highly condemnable and unacceptable in a civilised society.
“The union views this reprehensible and cowardly act with utmost seriousness and expresses deep concern over the safety and well-being of the abducted individuals and strongly denounces any form of violence, intimidation, or unlawful activities perpetrated against innocent civilians,” it read.

The union appealed to all sections of society, civil society organisations, student bodies, churches, and right-thinking citizens to come together in condemning the deplorable act and stand united against criminal activities that threaten peace, harmony, and human dignity.
Further, it appealed to the law enforcement authorities and concerned agencies to take immediate and appropriate action against the perpetrators and ensure the safe and unconditional release of the abducted persons without delay.
The union reiterated that such acts of criminality will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
