Dimapur, November 14 : After paying a surprise visit to NST station at Meluri, the Pochury Hoho said it was disheartened to find the office locked with no one present and while only one bus was parked in the station.
Informing this in a release, Pochury Hoho general secretary Er. Vichutho Nyusou said the Hoho officials led by its president visited the NST office at 10 am on Monday to take stock of the “exact prevailing condition” following complaints from the public about non-availability of NST buses in the NST station.
The release said it was very disheartening to see the pathetic office building as also improper functioning of the office. “No one was present, the office locked and just a single bus was parked in the station,” the Hoho wondered.
Stating that there are reportedly 22 employees headed by Akiele Therhüja,Yard Master, who has been allegedly absenting from his duties since last year, the Hoho lamented the department’s negligence towards the NST station at Meluri and the “ghost employees” in the office.
Questioning as to why he NST department is showing negligence to the far flung areas and becoming a dying department, the Hoho said at present only one NST bus is stationed at NST office at Meluri.
Where are the buses gone when there were eight buses plying under Meluri NST Station, it asked.
Stating that the public of Meluri sub-division are facing immense problem of transportation/communication due to the shortage of NST buses, the hoho made a fervent appeal to the authority concerned to take immediate necessary steps and resume bus services in all the mentioned routes in the interest of the public.
