Dimapur, Dec.15: Pochury Hoho has appealed the Regional Bank office for full fledged State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Meluri townin order to cater the needs of the customers.
In a representation to Assistant General Manager of Regional Bank office, the hoho on behalf ofMeluri town dwellers(30 departments and its employees, 10 education institutions, 16 prominent NGOs,16 churches and a Mandir/Masjid, Pensioners Association Meluri Block, Business Union Meluri Town and rural farmers of Meluri Sub-Division,appealed the Regional Bank to provide full staff facility for SBI Meluri Branch for the welfare of the customers in hassle free environment.
Pochury Hogo also sought early response from the bank on the grievances faced by the public of Meluri Sub-Division in context to banking facilities.Stating that Meluri town being an ADC headquarter comprising of 40 villages including the surrounding neighbours, and the highly anticipated Avangkhung International Trade Center which is the pursuing central government’s “Act East policy” with a scope for a robust economy for the area and Nagas as a whole, the citizens regret the poor facility of banking system in the area. The demo geographic criteria for proper functioning of SBI Meluri Branch would not fail the procedurals for steady progressing bank, it added.
President Penthü Pochury and general secretaryEr.Vichutho, stated that there was no cash officer since 2014 and till date no replacement has been done, therefore, urged the Regional bank for immediate posting without delay. They also said due to ‘very’ slow and usual break down of internet facility, officials on duty would onlyanticipate serious concern issues from the higher authority for ramification to par with other areas of SBI Banks.
With only two ATMs at main town,peopleare facing the grudge of demonetization, cashless banking while overdue andpending fresh opening accounts of zero balance,Jhan Dhan Yojna accountetc and the long unending queue of customers for withdrawals, deposits, customer caresetc at SBI Meluri Branch prolongs, stated Pochury Hoho.
Further, it said the public of Meluri area is in apprehension and scared that the policy of central government to facilitate through DBT for all the welfare schemes of the poor would fail from far-flung areasandbears untold hardships and stories of isolationism.
