Diphu, Oct. 18 (EMN): The Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) for Karbi Anglong district was launched by Assam, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonawal on Wednesday at Joysing Doloi Auditorium, Diphu.
In today’s function Sonawal has distributed free LPG cylinder to 23 beneficiaries under PMUY scheme. The CM announced Rs.500 cr. will be given to the district of Karbi Anglong for improvement of road connectivity in the region. He also said that flood came in the month of April to October where all the work were stuck down, the six months is experienced by flood and there is working person from October to March. During these season all the developmental world relating to construction of road, building have to be done.
The CM also said that he will give important for the three Hills district of Assam, I. e Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasoa . Sonawal, stated that the development of the state cannot be complete without the growth of the hilly district and he vowed to work resolutely to strengthen the infrastructure of these districts. He informed that Rs. 500 cr. would be invested for improvement of surface communication in the three hilly districts under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. He also expressed state government’s commitment to give a new dimension to the education, health and other sectors of the hilly districts. The Chief Minister extolled the rich cultural heritage of the state and urged the people to work in unity for building a stronger and prosperous Assam.
Moreover, Sonawal mentioned that the Prime Minister has launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to offer a life of dignity to the women of the poor families; he underlined the role of women in nation building. He also mentioned that a series of activities have been launched by the state government to improve the condition of the women and emphasised on the need to make them equal partners in the development initiatives. He pinned hope that the PMUY would also help women to live a healthy life.
On the other hand, Chief Executive Member (CEM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council has acknowledged CM Sonawal for bringing the PMUY scheme in Karbi Anglong. Several times Sonawal has visited Karbi Anglong it shows that he has deep love and caring for the people of Karbi Anglong. Ronghang also recalled that, during the Congress tenure Ronghang has requested former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to visit Karbi Anglong but he was not given interest upon Karbi Anglong. He urges the people of Karbi Anglong to leave Tarun’s. Ronghang also placed his word infront of Sonawal that long pending issue of Autonomous State, within the State should be implement which is the long aspiration of the people of Karbi Anglong.
Deputy Commissioner of Karbi Anglong Adil Khan handed the cheque of Rs. one lac three thousand seventy to Sonawal as CM relief fund. The employees of Deputy Commissioner has collected one day wages each and contributed for CM relief fund.
