Dimapur, March 18 (EMN): Webcasting on Prime Minister’s address in Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Phek at its conference Hall, Porba on March 17. Organisers updated about the programme.
The programme started with a sensitization of Krishi Unnati Mela and importance of agriculture as the main highlight of the event by ACTO-Agronomy Dr. Hannah Krujia.
Presentation of agriculture workshop on Energy Conservation under Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) was delivered by ACTO-Soil Science, Dr. T Esther Longkumer.
She elaborated about the simple diesel saving tips for tractor, pumps and irrigation through solar power for agriculture purpose and harmful effects of crop residue burning on human health, plants, animals and its effect on climate change.
A live show of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to exhibition stall and address to farmers at Krishi Unnati Mela 2018 at New Delhi was shown through web link http/webcast.gov.in/agriculture to the participants.
Altogether 54 students and farmers participated in the webcast programme.
The same webcasting of PM address to the farmers during the biennial national conference of KVK organised by KVK kohima on March 17 at the conference hall KV in Kohima.
Prime Minister in his address said that “the government is engaged in promoting organic farming throughout the country under the traditional agricultural development plan. So, based on that, he said Northeast is being developed as a hub of organic farming.
Modi emphasis on organic products is because they are as ancient as they are, as well as modern, a press release stated.
The programme was attended by progressive farmers, farmers’ club members, self help groups, government officials, village council members.
