Pfuchatsumiapfü Mechü Krotho (PMK), which was formed in 1990, has announced to celebrate its silver jubilee on December 12 at Christ King Higher Secondary School, Tholeibozou, with Kiyanilie Peseyie, Minister for Social Welfare and Parliamentary Affairs, as the chief guest.
PMK, consisting of four clans namely Rutsa Rhüba, Üsou Rhüba, Tsakou Rhüba and Yakouzou Rhüba, today is established as one strong organisation which form an integral part of the Pfuchatsumia Khel of Kohima village. Over the past 25 years, PMK was able to achieve many laurels in various fields and further progress into a strong Krotho in all the spheres of life. Today, Krotho has membership of about 600.
PMK was formed under the leadership of Mrs. Vituo-Ü Pienyu as its first president in 1990. She held the post from 1990-1997, while Neikesanuo Rutsa was the second president from 1997 t0 2008 and now Mrs. Khrieneinuo Pienyü, the third president, from 2009 till date.
PMK tirelessly worked for the uplift of the woman from all spheres of life and even established/ formed many self help groups within its members for the uplift of their family income to meet the various financial challenges in bringing up their children with good education, moral life and healthy life style.
PMK also actively take part and works closely in coordination with the Khel council, Khel youth and the Khel students’ union in checking and taking necessary measure against the anti-social elements, banning of IMFL, hostels and other unlawful elements which could disturb the peaceful atmosphere within P Khel jurisdiction.
