Beyond physical protection, the framework adopts a holistic and preventive approach by integrating dimensions such as child rights and protection, mental and emotional well-being, digital safety, physical fitness, and nutritional awareness. It seeks to empower students with critical life skills to respond effectively to risks in both school and community settings.
A Srija, Economic Advisor of DoSE&L, Ministry of Education, and Kevileno Angami, Commissioner and Secretary of School Education, attended and addressed the participants. They highlighted the role of teachers as change-makers and encouraged them to act as torchbearers in transforming PM SHRI Schools into institutions that promote safety, inclusion, and holistic development.

He underscored that ensuring the safety and dignity of every child is a shared responsibility of the education system. The orientation featured technical sessions led by experts. A session on child rights and protection provided insights into legal provisions and reporting protocols, stressing the role of teachers as first responders. This was followed by a session on digital well-being, which highlighted risks associated with screen exposure and its impact on mental health.
A demonstration-based session on physical education focused on building self-confidence, discipline, and resilience. An interactive session on school challenges addressed students' mental well-being, enabling participants to analyse case studies and adopt solution-orientated approaches to behavioural and social issues.
The programme also included a session on the PRASHAST App, highlighting the importance of early identification and intervention for Children with Special Needs (CwSN).
