Dimapur, June 17 (EMN): The Kohima Forest Division in collaboration with the district administration, Tseminyu Town Youth (TTY), and Tseminyu Students Union (TSU) organised a plantation drive at Tseminyu on June 15. Updates on Sunday informed.
Around 2000 numbers of fruiting and flowering species were planted at the selected sites in Tseminyu Town. The saplings were sourced from the Tseminyu range nursery where around 12, 000 saplings were distributed during the last two months alone, the update informed.
During the plantation programme, the division forest officer of Kohima, Rongsenlemla Imchen thanked the district administration, TTY, and TSU for their active participation. She also spoke about the importance of proper and judicious maintenance of the plantation
The extra assistant commissioner of Tseminyu, Kevi in his speech appreciated the forest department for organising the plantation drive. He added that every citizen should take responsibility in proper safeguarding of the plantations. It also informed that the plantations were done in and around the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Office, Sub-Divisional Education Officer, Public Works Department, State Bank of India, Treasury, Nagaland State Transport colony, Rest House, and Forest colony.

Dimapur: The Dimapur Forest Division in collaboration with the district administration of Dimapur along with the Dimapur district citizens conducted a plantation drive commemorating the World Environment Day 2018 on June 15 in Dimapur. Updates on Sunday informed.
The deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel spoke at the gathering of the sub-division officials, students, and Non Governmental Organisations (NGO) at the Additional Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall at Niuland. He urged the students to spread awareness about environment and implement it in action. He also encouraged them to not only plant but also nurture till its full growth.
Division forest officer of Dimapur, K Ihevi Awomi spoke about the significance of the World Environment Day and the plantation drive. It was informed that the Dimapur forest division has distributed 15, 000 saplings to the public, NGO, schools and colleges.
