Imphal, July 7 (EMN): The four- day state-level pineapple festival-cum-sellers and buyers meet and youth festival concluded on Sunday at the Thambalnu Market Complex in Manipur east district.
Around 168 pineapple stalls, 31 canteens and other 70 stalls were set up at the venue.
In the evening programme, Manipuri “matam eshei thouram” was presented followed by the 5th State-Level Pineapple Queen 2019 contest.
The festival which was started from July 4 was organised by thr Development Organisation Andro Kendra under the aegis of the Eastern Border Area Development Authority and Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture and Science department. The event was sponsored by the North Eastern Council, Government of India.
Revenue Minister Karam Shyam, Horticulture and Soil Conservation Minister Th Shyamkumar, deputy chairman of Planning Board S Rajen Singh, deputy chairman of Pollution Control Board L Radhakishore and managing director of Raj Medicity, Rajen Haobijam attended the closing function.
