- DIMAPUR — A preliminary post-mortem report in
connection with the Pimla murder case indicates the victim was not raped, the
president of Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland (ZYON), R John Zeliang,
said on Monday.
- The youth leader cited reliable sources and discussions held
with the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, as the basis for this information.
However, he emphasised that a complete and official police report is needed for
a comprehensive understanding of the case.
- The announcement followed a meeting between ZYON
representatives and the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, held at the CP’s
office regarding the cold-blooded murder of a woman on April 7 in Pimla area of
Chümoukedima.
- Sources from Dimapur Police confirmed the ZYON president’s statement.

- Zeliang also stated that ZYON is putting its previously
issued four-day ultimatum to the Police department on hold. This decision was
made after ZYON expressed satisfaction with the information provided by the
Commissioner of Police concerning the ongoing investigation.
- “The Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, has assured us that
the culprit will be identified within this week,” Zeliang said.
- He further added that specific details regarding the
investigation could not be disclosed at this time to avoid compromising the
ongoing efforts to apprehend the perpetrator. ZYON has urged the police to
expedite the investigation and bring the murderer to justice.
