Classical music enthusiasts were treated to some wonderful music by piano maestro Marouan Benabdallah on Friday Nov. 23 at the Nagaland Conservatory Chapel in Dimapur. "Benabdallah repertoire was an array of Eastern Arab music which took the listeners to a whole new culture experience" stated a press release.
The performed pieces started with 'Introduction and Oriental Dance' by Salvador Arnita, and included pieces by Dia Succari, Malik Aslanian, Zad Moultaka, A. Khachaturian, Claude Debussy, and ended with 'Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2' by Franz Liszt. The concert was well received and left the audience wanting for more.
A workshop for piano was also conducted at the Shofar Music Academy. The programme was stated to have been conducted in collaboration with Nagaland Conservatory of Music and Shofar Music Academy with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco.
