- DIMAPUR — The
Office of the Phokhungri Area Public Organisation (PAPO) has issued a statement
addressing recent comments made by the Mimi Circle Joint Council (MCJC).
- In it, the PAPO stated that Sütsü and Laruri are bona fide
villages under PAPO, which consists of 10 villages and one town, as is the
MCJC, with its eight member villages.
- “It is utter ignorance on the part of MCJC to think that
PAPO is an external entity. The PAPO is aghast by the rejoinder of MCJC sans
any remorse or guilt for their cowardly act of 28th March 2025,” it read.

- The statement maintained that the PAPO, as a guardian of its
people, has been discharging its bound duty to safeguard its villages and
people for the wellbeing of its area. Therefore, as alleged by the MCJC, the
question of an "external entity" does not arise.
- It was alleged that if the MCJC is a social organisation, it
should be "disturbed" and "outraged" by the unprovoked
attack on innocent civilians and the arson committed by its own members.
- It said that in today's civilised world, no right-thinking
individual or organisation would justify such a heinous crime and act of
barbarism. Not only the PAPO, but every right-thinking individual or
organisation should condemn such an act of violence.
- It concluded that one should not try to take the speck out
of the eye of others while the log is in your own eye. Rather, one should let
good sense prevail and resolve the issue amicably through peaceful dialogue.
