The rain soaked ground played spoilsports as both the teams were unable to attack but the Phesama team commanded the match by outsmarting their opponent scoring two goals in the first half through Kuotsu and adding three more in the second half. Thangawar and Kenneth of Charoi Chiru Naga FC score in the injury time but it was too late for the team to make a comeback. Kennedy Chiru, the owner of the Chario Chiru Naga FC Manipur talking to this correspondent said while he was satisfied with the match, he felt the muddy ground condition was to blame for his team’s weak performance. Nevertheless, he was optimistic the team would make a strong comeback in the next edition of the tournament. Meanwhile, Meriema Village Youth Organisation entered the round of eight by defeating United Brothers FC 4-1 in the fourth pre-quarter final match of the tournament. Kelhouneizo Üsou opened the account for MVYO in the 21st minute from a penalty for a foul inside the area. United Brothers failed to break through the defensive line as MVYO continued to dominate the game and in the second half Kevizhakie Ciesotsu (62nd) and Vikeduolie Lhousi (69th) scored to keep the team 3-0 lead. United Brothers FC later scored in the 74th minute through a spot kick conversion from Jaa Jaa Solo in. But Keviyabei-u Keditsü finished the game in the injury time by scoring their fourth goal in favour of MVYO team.
